System Set Up

This is my 1st Home Cinema Setup, but despite me being technically minded, I still have this gut feeling that things just are'nt right with the setup, for EG trying to switch from the built in freesat to Sky+ can take a good 2 to 3 minutes for it to switch or when changing channels the screen goes blank most times to change the aspect, despite me trying the setting on auto or 16.9.

So.....is there anyone who lives close to Warrington that is a tech genius that can help me out with these little annoying issues

anyone ? ok so I know its a bit much to ask for someone to come round but any help would be appreciated.
