Hi. I would like to suggest WHF team to add "Archives" in this site, so users can revise all products that had been reviewed earlier but no longer included in the Reviews menu.

I think it would be useful for all. Thanks

Would be interested to know if it's something people would pay for - either on a per-review basis, or as part of their mag subscription, or on an unlimited basis with different charges per day/week/year etc.

Thoughts? (And how much you'd be prepared to pay?)

Clare, interesting idea.

My thoughts. Cant say i would want to pay for it. But if it was part of the subs package i might be interested. would i be able to sneakily read my current issue online while working....

and it might get me to subscribe. But as an occasional buyer of the mag nope.

I can't say I would pay for it.

Generally I find what I am looking for.

Think I would pay for a "pay per view", say £1 per review or something. Would be especially useful when looking at second hand kit on ebay, give you a chance to see what it's like before you bid.

Andrew Everard:Well, we have over 30 years of issues on file....

I can't imagine at least for me needing anything over than 10 years old say.

What I think...

  • If the old stuff was made available as part of the subscription, I would definitely consider going for a subscription
  • Pay per view for non-subscription holders would also be good
  • Also go for the "Try before you buy" style that some sites go for, where you get to see a couple of articles free and then have to pay to see more, or like other websites where there is some access to initial part of articles, but a PPV / sub is required to see the full article
Overall, I think this is a very interesting idea, there is lots of old kit out here that people have or might want to buy and WHF reviews of said kit would be invaluable

Sorry, but we can't rewrite history to wipe out the first 20+ years of What Hi-Fi?

I don't know about that - all the best stuff was in the 80's.....

Only for the stuff from the 80s...

Surely all the recent stuff will be in digital form already, surely...

I would pay a pound to read an old review. But I would want to be able to then have free access to it in the future or be able to download it.

If only it were so simple, Master Baltom, if only it were so simple...

If you pay £30k a year I'll come over and sort it out

Yeah would imagine it would be pretty complicated setting it all up
