such a volume loss

When I go from my Cyrus to TT with Moon LP3 phono stage that is boosted by 60DB in MC mode my volume and dynamics are severally cut around 40-50% how did I come up with that number well its about half as loud on TT as it is with CD. Any ideas

Interesting. The 60 db are a limited value.I guess something wrong with the phono stage.

I have a cyrus amp (8VS)+ RSXR and a Lehmann Black Cube SE. The MC boosting value is 67 DB and dynamics are much better than the CD (Arcam CD 73). I would propose you try an alternative Phono stage in order to compare - can be any brand.
