Hi Gurus & Editors,

Looking for some advice when purchasing a speaker package is it a must that it has a subwoofer?

If you buy a traditional 'boxy' speaker package with a pair of large floorstanding speakers for the front pair, there's less need for a sub, but you'll probably still be missing out on the lowest bass.

If you're looking to get a traditional speaker package with small standmount speakers, or a style speaker package, a sub is an essential part of the set-up.

Although it depends on what you will use the package for. Demo a set with/without for the only real way of knowing!
