Hello, I have just purchased a Yamaha YST-FSW100 subwoofer but it does not have auto on-off based on signal received. Is this normal? Any idea how could I do so that it turns on-off automatically so I do not need to do it everytime I turn on the receiver.

Another question in case you are familiar with this subwoofer. Any opinion regarding sound. I have Onkyo 701E and fronts B&W 685 and to be honest I do not see that it adds too much value. I have the crossover at 60hz.

Many thanks, Pablo.

They usually have auto on/off switch. I use a Mordaunt-Short subwoofer model, and activate the switch, but i dont understand why its amplifier getting hot even not in use (standby mode).

I set my frequency at 100Hz as adviced by a WHF Editor
