Is there any difference in sound quality of say a/Tablet b/Cell Phone when streaming Spotify

I have downloaded MusicCast on both phone and tablet. Recognises my Yamaha WXA-50 on Oppo phone, but not Lenovo Tablet.
Getting a bit mystifying for an old bugga

Over Bluetooth yes WiFi/ethernet no:

I never thought there would be. It's compressed music being compressed again over Bluetooth but there is a massive difference in sound quality between my son's phone £500 ROG phone 4 and my phone £180 Motorola, streaming Spotify to a Bluetooth receiver connected to an old amp at work.
Over WiFi/ethernet, whichever method you've used to connect your Yamaha, there shouldn't be a difference in sound quality with any UPnP enabled app as essentially your phone/tablet is just a remote control

Over Wifi your phone instructs Spotify to stream to your Yamaha, as Dirk said, it's like a remote, so regardless of the device you use the sound quality will be the same and consistent.

Your Lenovo tablet may not be working because it may be old and require a newer version of Android. That's about the only reason I can think of. I'm an agnostic phone user - I've alternated between iPhones and Android ones, but for tablets best stick to Apple iPads.

As others have said it acts as a remote, one of your biggeset restrictions in sound quality will be using Spotify as it's the lowest resolution of all the streaming services.
The subject of numerous other threads but do you think we'll ever get the higher quality Spotify promised, how many years ago? Or are they just content with messing around with the UI?

I use the Wiim Pro Plus connected directly via eternet - tried Bluetooth, but very underwhelmed. It's okay for podcasts but the step-up with music is substantial (this is using the Cambridge DACMagic 200M - I'm not quite so keen on the sound of the Wiim on its' own).

I don't have faith in anyone who promises upgrade year after year and don't action it .... they need to learn a lesson from the Tory Party .. and to be quite honest I don't care because I don't use them.
I think they're just trying to stop people migrating away from them for as long as possible and probably have zero interest in delivering it as Podcasts become their main income.

That's one thing that annoys me, I have zero interest in podcasts. I want Spotify for music. Recently I've taken to listening more to the music I have on my NAS through my phone rather than Spotify. It's constantly crashing. I thought maybe a problem with my cheap phone but even on my son's expensive phone, Spotify has started crashing after playing a handful of songs. It just seems recent updates, such as messing with UI and as my son said making it like tic tok, and introducing podcasts have also been very buggy.

The MusicCast app is a controller app that tells the Spotify server what to play and streams it directly to your Yamaha device. So no, there will not be a difference in sound quality as the sound is not going through your phone or tablet at all.
If you have successfully installed the Musicast app on the Lenovo tablet, then it should give you the same options and serviceability as it does on the phone. Select Spotify (in the MusicCast app), sign in to your account and select the music that you want to hear.
