Thought I would give a quick update.

In the end I went for a system consisting of:
- Rega Planar 1
- Yamaha R-N600A
- B&W 607 S3

Must say I'm really happy with it. Plays the records, Spotify/Tidal, DAB radio, Net radio, etc... with (for me at least) unprecedented clarity!

Thanks for all the information, help, feedback. It postponed my decision a few times, but for the better 🙂
Glad to hear you got what you wanted. Did it come in on budget?

This has got me intrigued and it looks like Fosi is looking to conquer the world.
Anyone looking for their first TT on a budget, look no further than Fosi.

Interestingly, I’d leave such a thing well alone. Turntables require a particular skill set, and much as I’ve enjoyed Fosi amplifiers, this would have to be amazing, and bizarrely they don’t even have the money to develop it.

A definite avoid for me. But I sincerely hope I can eat my words in the coming months. 🙂

They're pitching against a saturated market and people are likely to be swayed towards trusted well established brands like rega and project for marginally higher costs.

I'm sort of in the expectation that Fosi is going to pull something out of the hat but I'm incline to agree with you on this one.
Let's wait and see 😊

$349 for a unknown chinese TT

Only a total idiot would buy a $350 turntable made in EU / UK
Rega & Project with several decades of history , millions of units of production , decades of factory warranty and service / spares & re-sale value
with Pride of ownership

With TT's it's often what you do not see that counts. Precision engineering.

That Fosi looks like s***t and I saw one review which detected significant platter wobble and also arm bearing intolerances. Work in progress ... .

Mind, even more established manufacturers don't always get it right. Roksan's Attessa turntable had/has significant quality control issues and that thing originally sold at over a grand.
