Storage device for movies and music

Hi guys. maybe someone out there can point me in the right direction. i'm building a new house and am looking for a device to play,store download onto via computer, which i can then play on my t.v . A company called buffalo seem to provide something like this. i'll have an ipod with docking stations located around this new house. cat 5 cable running to all t.v's (3) and all running back to a central point . We've a load of kids movies for our 3 bruisers and i'd like to be able to play downloaded movies on any of the t.v's

I've just bought a Western Digital 1TB NAS . The jury's out at the mo - it has good qualities but I'm finding it intermittently inaccessible which makes it useless. I've put in a support email to WD so hopefully it's something that can be resolved.

But I'll let you know what it's like in a few days.

thanks roger06 . seem good value. my knowlegdge is so poor as regards computing and electronics, i find it difficult to even determine what exactly its is i should be looking for. would i be right in saying its an NAS device .
