Does anyone know why there is no industry standard for digital audio inputs?
A lot of the new DACs coming on to the market now may well have four or five inputs but if one is a USB, one is optical, one is coaxial and the other is AES/EBU (whatever that might be) then it isn't going to be much use if you need two coaxial sockets or any other combination.
It always seemed to work well enough for analogue interconnects where a set of RCAs would connect any components together.
