SR606 & SKY HD Dolby Digital Sound

Wanting to get the SKY box to output Dolby Digital I've connected my SKY HD box to the SR606 via the optical connections (OPT1) on the receiver. I've set the optical output on the sky box to Dolby and assigned the digital audio input for the SKY box to OPT1 on the receiver.

However I do not get Dolby Digital as an listening option on the receiver. When I check the display source infomation it show it as PCM with a freq of 48. The closet option I can get is either PLII Movie or All Channel Stereo.

So am I getting Dolby or not, if not can anyone offer any advice?

It probably means there's nothing transmitting Dolby Digital surround at the mo. I tend to use PL IIx Music as a default, with the receiver switching to Dolny Digital when something suitable is boradcast.

Thanks for the advice Andy.... I subsequently identified a Dolby broadcast but the system did not recognise it. With a bit of fiddling with the input assignment configurations I can unassign the HDMI input and leave the digital audio assignment as Optical this works and gives great sound, however I have no picture having unassigned the HDMI. To confirm I have a HDMI lead between the box and receiver and also a optical comnection. So it seems that the input assignment overides the digital input assignment do you, or anyone else have any further thoughts?

Changing the digital audio input setting shouldn't affect the video pass-through.

I agree Andy - but it appears the HDMI assignment overides the digital audio assignment. However I've managed to sort it! It appears to come down to the order that you do the assigning. I've assigned the Digital audio to Optical and then on the receiver selected 'optical' on the digital input button. This ensures the receiver searchs for a DD signal. I've then gone back and assigned the video HDMI input. This resets the digital audio input assignment to HDMI so changing this back to Optical gives me HDMI video and DD sound convoluted but it worked!
