Squash balls a cut above?

Scissors or a stanley knife. Very carefully of course...

Thanks LHC. I dont play squash so have no idea of their construction. Guess I'll buy some and hope I retain all 10 digits.

They're pretty soft rubber, should be easy to cut, you might want to clamp the ball for the initial puncturing but after that it should be easy enough, decent scissors will be good enough once you've made the initial hole.

I could start a debate suggesting that a 'soft' ball (I thought they were harder) would be oflittle use. But for the very small outlay I will give them a try. Off to the sports shop - that's worryin' - the OH will need some of my pills!

They're easily squeezed in the hand, the idea is they absorb vibrations, a hard object wouldn't do that as well.

Have you decided as to which grade of Squash ball sounds the best?

Double Yellow... Super Fast Speed but very low bounce.

Yellow............. Fast low bounce.

No Dots Black... Medium Speed average bounce.

Blue............... Slow but very high bounce.

All have a different resilience (compliance) and all are temperature sensitive. So in theory each will offer different charcteristics! :O

I hear that the best ones are the ones from Russ Andrews which have been treated cryogenically in liquid nitrogen and then injected with snake oil! THe better ones have Peter Belt "Polarising Foils" attached for ultimate tuning. :rofl:
