Splurge options

I currently run a denon aver 1910 into Jamo a102 hcs6 7.1 speakers. TV is a Philips 32PFL7404

i fancy upgrading the amp to a pioneer either the 57 or the 87.

Any thoughts on the capability of the speakers with either of the above?

I'd be looking at a bigger TV if it's a 32", that'll give movies a bit more presence?

The 57 is a capable AV that can run those without issue you would not need to go up 2 classes. Buy the 57 and save the additional money for something else.

The only time to buy the 87 would be if you planned on upgrading the speakers and making use of the additional analogue inputs on the back, for example connecting your bluray player via analogue (5.1).

Since you are considering these options, have you thought about other manufacturers like Yamaha and Arcam?

TV fits alcove so no poss of increase / upgrade

not looked at the Yamaha or arcam options went for best buy recommendation.

Suggestions for for aletrnatives for the 57?

Peter Tyson has the Marantz SR7008 for £799, I have the predecessor and am very happy with it.
