Listening to my A6s I wonder if they sound better with the grilles on or off..?..... yes i know... use your ears...

But I think I have a preconceived bias, since many articles suggest speakers sound better undressed and when I listen its hard to not have expectations

Any spendor owners out there care to pass on their comments/findings?

I doubt you'll be able to hear any difference. You could always do some blind comparisons and get a freind to put the covers on or off without you knowing which it is and if you can't tell the difference when blindfolded it not worth worrying about.

Just go with whatever looks best to your eyes or leave them on to give them the drivers a bit of extra protection.

I'm not a Spendor owner but I suspect that your speakers will sound slightly cleaner and more detailed without the grilles...whether that is practical for you is another matter.

Differences should be negligible if correctly designed (Moving your speakers a cm or so will make a bigger difference so I wouldn’t worry about it), also don’t forget to check in the manual to see what the manufacture recommends.

Hope this helps

I think speakers sound better without grilles and never fit mine. However I think this is probably just a psychological effect rather than anything real.

I prefer them on.

Speakers are such delicate things - vulnerable especially if you have kids.

Even grown people can't help but poke them when the cones are exposed

Makes little to no difference to the sound.
