You could try Rega's own speakers along with Q Acoustics Concept 20 and Kef R100/LS50s....you didn't give a budget or room size.

Budget: Whats resonable compared to the price of the Rega Brio-R. Maybe 800€ a pair.
Given your room size, the Standmounts I've listed should be fine....you need to hear what different budgets will achieve, as the Rega RX1 and LS50s are a bit over €800, whereas the Kef R100 and Concept 20s are not.

Cant find any reviews of Rega RX1, but maybe a bit to expensive anyhow.
You might still find the previous model about, which is substantially less costly (and less good).

I was very impressed by the Concept 20s when I heard them.

+1 focal aria 906

You'll likelywant an efficient to drive speaker which the focals are. I had a brio r with my dynaudio, and they sounded very good, but I expect the focals might sound even better.

Thanks all. I am reading and looking at your suggestions.

Question: Should I choose 4ohm or 8ohm speakers to the Rega Brio-R?

Rega Brio R specs:
50w RMS pc into 8 ohms 73w RMS pc into 4 ohms[/list]

The Focal 906 are fairly easy to drive with (specs) 89.5db sensitivity and 4.6ohm minimum impedance. IMO they are less forward sounding speakers Focal have made.

I have decided to go the other way around and start with the speakers, instead of the Amp.

Thanks for all your inputs, they have inlightened me.

I will start a new post. Hope you will join in.

I suggest you consider the amp and speakers as a system, in the sense that they will influence each other. Buying great sounding speakers and spoiling them with an inferior amplifier will lead to disappointment. Conversely, a fine amp will make the best of even modest speakers.
