Hi there, I’m waiting delivery of a Yamaha a-s301 amp… I’m in the market for speakers… unsure wether to go for floor or Standmount but they need to perform close to a rear wall position and will be 2.5 meters apart either side of a tv stand…. My budget is £600… any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks..

Best go for floorstanders if room size allows, unless of course you already own speaker stands. This way all your money is spent on the speakers themselves.
can you actually get to audition any?

Room size, musical styles, are you after 'fun' or analytical?
Hi there, my room size is 5m x 3m… sofa will be facing the speakers across the width of the room (3m)….
listen for fun really, listen to different genre’s but mainly guitar driven rock, indie, blues type stuff…

I’m local to Hull Richer Sounds….
the rear wall is my main issue as I can’t really move the speakers to far into room…. My room is 5m x 3m but listening position is the width of room (3m)…

Having heard these affordable Yams, look at KEF R series.

That is true but I don’t think the OP specified new. The demo would help him decide on what route he wants to go down.
