Hello! I'm new here and this is my first post.

I just bought RX-A1010 to replace my RX-V667 wich I gave in exchange and got the A1010 for 365£.

My front speakers are MA BR2 and found that stereo image, precision, clarity and depth of detail got worse with RX-A1010 in 2ch stereo.

The 667 was 90w to 8ohms 2ch driven with full bandwidth and 1010 is 110w. MA BR2 recommended power r.m.s is 100w.

Could it be that my speakers can't really handle the output of rx-a1010 or is it just a bad match. I am considering to move on to BX5AV setup and

I was wondering would this be a better match with the amp? Any advice or recommendations would be nice. Also was wondering should I downgrade the amp to RX-V673 since I got days left for returning and would 673 be better match with BR2s?

HT works just fine. With 2ch music is the issue.

thanks in advance

The imaging wouldn't have gotten worse with a better receiver, I'd say it is more likely down to settings somewhere. The extra power and current from the RXA1010 will be making the BR2's sound a bit punchier.

Have you run an auto setup and left it as is? Or have you checked what it has done and tweaked it?

Hi,

When I used YPAO on 667 it did work great and I was very pleased with the results but when I run YPAO on 1010

I don't get results as pleasing I did with the 667. It's quite funny because 1010 should be far more superior to 667 on every level.

Just started to experiment with settings on 1010 and hopefully can get pleasing results. Maybe my room comes more alive with 1010 running BR2's.

I noticed the punchier approach of BR2's and overall better bass production but i feel things are bit out of contol compared to sound with 667.

Maybe I should dig deeper into the PEQ settings.
