speakers for Cyrus 6xpd/ 6cdse

You haven't mentioned budget or musical taste, but maybe something from Proac or PMC. Owners of Cyrus may be more qualified to comment.

Can anyone advise of good speakers for this combo in a smallish room

Hi knacker

What do you generally listen to?

Anyone else likely to use the system? If so, their listening preferences?

Did you listen to these electronics before you purchased them? If so, what speakers were used?

Positioning of the speakrers in the room?

Listening distance?

Will the speakers be stand, shelf or wall mounted?

Is your room lightly or heavily furnished?

The interconnects and speaker cables?

Any other electronics you are looking to add?

Stereo only or any plans to also go the AV route?

Your budget?

All the best

Stick to efficient speakers in order to make the most of the 6xpd's power output. The KEF Q300's will work very well too, and will owrk closer to a wall than many competitors at it's price point (£450). You could also try the Rega RS1's (£398) and Tannoy Revolution DC6's (£499).
The insightful little KEF XQ10 (£680) can be situated near a wall too, as can it's larger brother, the XQ20 (£1000), if you want a fuller sound with the same characteristics.
As mentioned, the DB1's (£985) will work well, but can need a little rom to work at their best.
You should be fine with the ProAc Studio 115's too, which are a very popular choice at the moment among people liking many music genres.
All are very good at low volumes as they're all pretty efficient. See if you can get yourself along to a dealer for a listen to a few and see what you like the sound of.
