Im using Qed anniversary xt cables, but at the end where i plug them into the amp i had to trim back the cables to have the size to get it in the plug/connector, but as soon as i move the amp or anything moves the wire falls out, so what i thought about doing was soldering about 6" of the speaker wire that came with the speakers to the end of the QED cable, because then it slots into the plug alot better and its alot harder to pull out, will it afect the sound and quality of the set up.

Or does anybody else have any ideas

Not sure exactly what the problem is. Could you explain a little more?

From what I understand, your speaker wire to amp connection keeps falling out - are you using banana plugs on the end of the speaker wire, or are you threading bare speaker wire directly into the speaker binding posts on the back of the amp?

Its bare wire, you have to put the bare wire into the plug through a small hole about 2mm, and theres a little plastic lever in the plug you push when the wires in and it springs down to hold the wire there, with the qed its easy to fall out but with the crappy speaker cables you get with the set up it holds it alot better.

Can you not strip back the cable enough to allow you to double over the end of the QED? (You can remove the XT core on the stripped back length, allowing you to just double over the actual wires)
