Speaker Switching

Hi All,

Does anyone have strong opinions about speaker switching between an AV amp and a hifi amp ?

Obviously running a single pair of speakers through a switch adds extra joints in the cable runs, but assuming that the same cable type is used throughout are there any other disadvantages ?

The link below describes how to achieve the same results without having to use a switch. See Andrew Everard's second reply for details. It just depends on your AV amp having pre-outs for the two front channels. Seems like a neater solution.

thanks for the response, but doesn't really answer my question...the downside of that solution as I understand it is matching makes of amps and different remotes for volume changes....

Switching speakers between amps just involves the flick of a switch...
