How much should I be looking to spend and does any one have any recommendations for a cyrus cd8se, pre-vs and 8-power, I am planning to get another 8 power at a future date and add some pxrs but funds won't allow to purchase everything at the moment. They need to be good enough for both current and future setups. It is an average sized room about 15X12. In view of the room size should I stick to a more modest set up using the integrated amp. Any suggestions would be gratly appreciated.

Kef reference 201/2 sound rather good with Cyrus pre/power when I heard them in the shop. PMC also should be on the list as many people seem to like them together.

Spendor SA1, or if your taste is for something bassier, the new A5 or A6. Spendor voice their kit on Cyrus and have suggested to me the synergy (interpret with a tiny pinch of salt). The PMC DB1 and FB1 competitors are excellent too and sound leaner with less detail and bass definition.
