speaker positioning

hi

ive got the monitor br2 av package but today bought a pr of br1's, i would like adivice on where to position them at the moment i have bi-wired the pr of br2's and using them as front l+r and the brfx's as rears.would i be better moving the brfx's to side l+r and using the br1's as rears or just putting them as front height speakers...? oh and im currently searching high and low for a pr of either br5's or 6's in walnut to use as front l+r which will free up the br2's advice would be much appriecated

Hi, what size and dimensions is the room? Sometimes there is no substitute for trial and error - you could try moving things around and compare the same snippet of movie soundtrack to see what you think of the difference.

Depending on your room layout, the general rule of thumb is to have the direct firing BR1's as rear centre speakers, and the dipole BRFX's on the side walls so they can fire up and do the room (to recreate the multiple 'rear' speakers down the sides of a cinema).
