Hi!

I'd like some advice on how to hook up speakers to my new Denon AVR 1909. I've purchased the receiver for both home theater and music use. For the HT use I'm connection a 5.1 speaker set up. For the music use a regular set of speakers.

My question is regarding the regular speakers. These allow bi-wiring and bi-amping.

It seems I have two options:

Connect the 5.1 set as expected and program the 6th and 7th channels as 'zone 2'. These would then connect to my stereo speakers

Alternatively I could connect my regular speakers to speaker terminals 'B' and use the 6th and 7th channel for bi-amping.

- What would you recommend?

- What will happen to the amplifier when I go for option 2 and set the speaker selection to 'A+B'?

Thanks!

Mike

Would you have your stereo speakers in a separate room? If not use the normal 5.1 terminals but use the 6th and 7th to bi-amp the front speakers.

Thanks for your reply

-> It would be a separate room.

I might not have explained myself properly, 2nd attempt...

Option 1:

Terminals A : Speakers 1 (part of 5.1)

Terminals B: unconnected

Surround (6&7) Speakers 2

Option 2

Terminals A : Speakers 1 (part of 5.1)

Terminals B: Speakers 2 (bi amp)

Surround (6&7) Speakers 2 (bi amp)

Cheers,

Mike
