hi everybody,

I got a primare i30 with a pair of focal 706 monted on wall brackets as got twins and do not want them touching stands and bringing speakers down on them. my dilema is even though sound quality is good with speakers being so close to wall i can help to wonder if i d get a better sound going with really good in ceiling speakers such as b&w ccm 818 or may be sonance visual performance VP89R or 87R or focal electra in ceiling...I am unable to find answers so anybody confronted with that problem and tried a few different combination I d would like to hear from you and advice or any inputs would be much appreciated.

thanks in advance john

Wouldn't have thought so. In-ceiling speakers are great for multiroom sound, i.e. speakers in the kitchen, bathroom etc, but are not really suitable for critical listening.

The soundstage will be effectively non-existent, and bass is usually very limited with these compact speakers.

Personally, I'd stick with the Focals on their brackets for the time being...

Jon.

Just curious. What speakers are connected to an Primare I30. Anybody with B&W xt8?? Looks, on paper, a good combination. Haven't heard it, but i'm planning to do so. Also considering Piega's.
