Speaker crackle and pop.

The system set up over my PC is a Marantz SR4200 with Mission M7's and occasionally pops and clicks when playing music.

I've had the back off the amp and hoovered it out and there wasn't much dust. The gear and the PC are plugged into a mains conditioner and the the music has been accurately ripped into FLAC.

Any ideas what else might be causing the odd blemish?

A process of elimination is probebly the way forward. Start with the conditioner and remove it go direct see what happens!! So on & so forth. If you have a nice friend with a system temp him with a couple of beers to bring it round and eliminate each part of the system. This could be time consuming but theirs fun to be had!!!!

I assume from your post that the PC is the source.

I'm gussing, but the noise is likely coming from the soundcard on the PC. Try plugging an MP3 player or other source to the amp and see if the noises still occur.
