Have purchased a Advance paris x50bt.
What speakers would you recommend
Looking at up to £150 2nd hand
Looking for warm sound, with decent bass,

What size room will they be in and how far away from them will you be sitting? What sources will you be mostly using?

Will be sat approx 2.5m away from speakers
Listening to soul.synthesizer and vocal music
Have already got decent speaker cable
Looking for bi-wire speakers really

Don't worry about bi-wiring, it's a load of tosh. There's a good reason why companies like Dali and Dynaudio don't bother with it.

If you can get a pair of Zensor 3 for £150, that’s a very good deal. Otherwise, consider Q Acoustic speakers. Very good speakers for the money.

Depends how you define bookshelf. Many small speakers (aren't designed for a shelf) work best on dedicated stands, so try and budget for stands as well if you go standmount.

Floorstanders, because of their comparative size, give out bigger bass and deeper lower frequencies.

I've owned both and had no issues with either but some rooms can have less than great acoustics and can sound boomy.

There are no hard and fast rules; it’s what sounds best to you. A 2.5m listening distance lends itself well to a decent set of stand mounts. Choice will be limited at £150 and you’ll get more for your money with stand mounts
