Unless you're a fully qualified electrician, this is an absolute no-no.

Speaker cable is designed to handle low voltage, mid-current variable loads. Mains cable is designed to carry full voltage (240V in the UK), high current loads - especially if you're feeding a Class A amp. You risk having the cable overheat and start a fire, among other things.

Just sell the speaker cable on eBay and use the money towards buying a specialist mains cable!

Bad idea for the reasons Scene suggests. There are loads of excellent and good value mains cables available now so you can buy one off the shelf safely that will sound excellent - as a starting point the Chord Super Shield mains cable or one from True Colours Industries are worth considering.
