Evening all,

Other half asked me tonight when I was going to get rid of those 'awful ugly blue wires running round the lounge' - referring to the two runs of extremely thick Van Damme cable which I 'temporarily' ran to my rear speakers. In order to keep the peace (and it seemed like a good 'clearance to spend money on things I like' moment ), I measured up what I'd need to replace them all (fronts included) and realised that I will need 45 metres ! I had been considering QED Silver Anniversary XT all round, but at £6 a metre and having just bought an Atacama rack for the TV, I think I'd risk the possibility of being banished to the shed ! My question is, would the QED Micro speaker cable suffice for the rears with XT on the fronts and centre? Speakers are AE Neo 3 fronts and Neo Centre and Neo 1 rears.

So if anyone can save me from a week in the shed, I'd be eternally grateful !

Rob

QED Micro works just fine on rear speakers for the sound effects of films. If you play a lot of surround music then Kimber installation cable is reasonably cheap and unobtrusive.I got a 20m length of Kimber 16 off ebay for about £3 a metre and it's good enough for my Linn Akurate 212's - it sounded identical to the Chord Odyssey 4 I had, which was way more expensive.

Cheers Caddyhound,

Found QED Micro £1.25 a metre on ebay, but will have a look if there's any Kimber on there - I need 2 runs of 15 metres just for them !

Thanks again for the advice - ebay here I come !
