Hi

My mate has offered to buy my speakers off me as he likes the sounds of them, as i do, just curious if anyone knows of any other speakers that may work well if the below system before accepting or declining his offer

Only one local hifi shop where i am and doesn't have the largest selection of speakers to audition

any suggestions would be appreciated

What would be handy to know is what music do you listen to?

I think speakers to look at would (but obviously depending on budget) would be:

B&W 685's
Monitor Audio RX1's or RX2's
Dali Lektor 2's
EB Acoustic EB1's
Arcaydi DM1's
Q Acoustic 2010's or the 2020's
Wharfedale 10.1's

If you want to upgrade for a reason, why not.

Other than that, changing for the sake of it? - Look at it this way; You are in a minority of a select few happy individuals which are blissfully contempt with what they have ...

Let your mate worry about his own system. Selfish but effective.

what is your budget? ... once people know that, they can advise accordingly

I have Quad 12L2's but I'm blissfully content....

thanks for replying, i listen to anything but mainly older rock like rush, pink floyd sort of stuff

Would be looking at budget of arounf 4 - £500 althought thinking now that previouse post were right, be sefish as i do enjoy my sound....was more a curiosity than anything....

Well with that budget I'd be going for the B&W 685's, Monitor Audio RX2's or the EB Acoustic EB1's

cheers, i do love the look of the monitor audio RX2, think i will get my mate do go demo some kit and check out a few different options myself.....what is it with the HIFI bug that you just keep looking and looking at different gear regardless if your content lol

I would go with the eb's. A bit bigger than normal standmounts, but sound special

i would take your speakers into a local dealer and try them on some hi end gear and see if you like them any better if no major improvement get rid thgen but it may need a cd player or an amp change to get what u want.
