Having taken delivery of the Th-37px80b on Wednesday, I am extremely happy with my purchase. However, I have noticed some rather bad, almost uncomfortable bass distortion in certain scenes of a couple of DVDs I have watched (Sunshine/AlienVsPredator:Requiem). This occurs with the bass at around 50% on the onscreen menu. Could this be the result of a fault , or down to the limited abilities of the televisions sound, or does it serve me right for watching an Alien sequel.

Could just be down to the limited ability of the built-in speakers, which frankly don't tend to be of great quality in flatscreen TVs, not least because of the space limitations. Might be worth turning the bass down below 50% to see if that helps.

Thanks, having read a few other posts it appears its a fairly common occurence when watching films. Glad its not a technical fault with the TV as I am really enjoying everything else about it. Will use the money I saved from the JL pricematch for a decent sound system, and not for any more DVDs like AVP requiem
