Hello, I'm looking for owners of Sony's WH-1000XM3. I'm really happy with the product, they are comfortable, the ANC is awesome and they work great overall. The sound experience has been weird, at first I didn't bother about the bass heavy sound but then I tried Wavelet on Android. The sound changed completely, the bass was more natural, mids and highs were improved a lot. Then I did my own preset with similar performance to Wavelet auto eq. Has anyone had a similar experiencie with this headphones?. They are no audiophile graded headphones but they are practical and easy to use. Let me know.

Got mine today I play them with NC and they sound fine to me . I have lots of other earphones / headphones and these can compete with any of them sometime it depends what sort of format that you are using mp3 and flac and the codecs can make a difference. I have got mine on now as I write love them.

There is a sony headphone app that allows for lots of adjustment as well as optimising the sound for your ear shape, as well as preset eq's and user programable's, be advised that if you are steered towards a software update "don't apply it " other users have reported that it adversely affects the performance of the headphone's and ANC and there doesn't appear to be a way to revert back to the original software. I have just left mine without updating and they perform just great for me. Sony Headphone App

Hi! I've had the WH-1000XM3 for more than 2 years now and I found its bass overly emphasised, to the point where the vocals sound a bit veiled. I've tried using the AutoEQ settings on Wavelet and also other recommended EQ profiles, but I decided to create my own EQ profile in the end.

I'm using the 20-band equalizer in Equalizer Buddy, an Android app which is free on the play store (no affiliation to me btw).

I'll share it here if any of you would like to try it :)
(I was aiming for a more balanced and neutral EQ tuning)
