So, it appears Sony and TCL are going into a JV with TCL taking over Sony's Audio Visual dept with 51% share.

As sign of the times and perhaps as with most things, dwindling margins in this industry.

I am glad I have mine and plan on keeping it, but if I hadn’t bought my Sony I would’ve bought a TCL TV anyway. Not particularly bothered just hope it means quality at a low price.

I wonder what it will mean for the Sony Bravia 7 part 2 and the Sony Bravia 9 part 2 though, I guess they will still release them but still no mention of them.

I wouldn't have thought it would lead to cheaper prices, unless Sony are going to launch an assault on the market to gain market share, but I think that'd be a silly move. I'd rather they stick to quality.

Most entry level models of the posh boys of manufactures (Sony, Panasonic etc.) are not made by them, but instead are made by Vestal, Hisense and TCL, so its a logical extension to keep prices down.
