I am looking for a budget home cinema amp and have narrowed my choice down to the above. Shall I go for the Sony at £260 or is the Yamaha worth an extra £90 at £350?

Any views appreciated.

ValianTX:The Pioneer will be the best between the three.
Have you listened to the Pioneer ?

The Yamaha at £350 is a no brainer, and will blow the Sony clear out the ball park.................

Since September i have had an Onkyo 507, Denon 1910 and the Yamaha is the only one so far that has worked first time ( and stayed working ) with out any hdmi hand shake issues.

The sound is typically Yamaha, warm, not bright and in your face, and will suit a wide range of speakers.

The start in the range of discrete amplification, 90 watts per channel and it sounds it....

2 year warranty, what more can i say.

I have, yes. It's a lovely amp....I might consider getting one myself at this price.

I like mine and for 250.00 with warranty you wont beat it.

Decodes great, I have not had one problem, except me not knowing how to hook it up in the beginning, but my speakers sound amazing, my system has turned me into a fiend for hi-fi now.

Good for me, not good for the bank balance or the missus, but hey my 4 year old loves it, so 2 against one.
