Sony STRDA3200ES can i get full HD sound?

I can get a Sony STRDA3200ES reciever at a good price i have a sony BDPS360 blu ray player will this reciever allow me to play DTS HD and Dolby HD sound?

Unfortunately, despite the inclusion of HDMI inputs, DolbyTruHD and DTD HD decoding are missing from this otherwise excellent amp.
But to be fair, it is three years old!
I seem to remember it has multichannel RCA inputs on the rear but as your Sony BDPS360 doesn't output HD via onboard decoding, then you can't get the HD sound that way either.

Yes, it will - ignore all the above. The Sony can handle eight channels of Linear PCM over HDMI, so just set your player to decode the DTS-HD and DD HD soundtracks and output them as LPCM, and you're in business.

Sincere apologies to all concerned!
However, good news for a friend of mine who has the same set up and informed me that it wasn't possible.
I can see why he thought so, as the following info for the STRDA3200ES is from Son'y's own website . . . .

In the End i bought a yamaha rxv 2600 at a good price it works with full hd picture and sound and the cd replay is fantastic i'm chuffed 🙂
