Sony STRDA 1200 HDMI -no sound

On the STR 1200 as some people might know the audio signal on the HDMI inputs is not processed and output through the receiver, it simply passes straight through to the monitor out. This came as a surprise and a disapointment to me. With the HDMI logo displayed across the receiver I thought (wrongly in this case) that audio signals would be processed in the amp. Anybody considering buying the Sony amp should be sure this suits there requirements!
