Sony STR DH800 Amp and Jamo Speakers - Not Getting Great Sound From Back Two Speakers

Hi there,

I am hoping someone can help me please. I have setup my Sony STR DH800 amp and Jamo speakers as per both instructions manual but feel I may have missed something.

When watching programs and blu ray movies with 5.1 surround sound, I don't get the buzz of hearing sounds behind me, bascially due to the front two and centre speakers being so much louder than the back two. I setup the speakers with the auto calibrate but something does not seem right, I do not feel the excitement that I would have thought I would get from cinema surround sound. I just hope it is me!

Can someone please help me, I have bought so many blu ray movies but have not played them yet due to fear of feeling dissapointed.

Don't be afraid to make manual adjustments. Auto calibration isn't always 100% accurate, so if you feel the need to turn up the rears a bit, do so or even turn the front/centre down. Tweak away to get it sounding right in your environment as there are no hard and fast rules. Everyone's rooms are different.

Check your crossover settings and speaker distances etc. too.
