One of my favourite hobbies is going to big stores and cheking out the news, of sound and vision.Im getting a bit scared with sony's product quality.I've seen once a sony 40S5500 with distorted sound almost like hearing an ecoe.at the same store a few days after I saw another S5600 with double image...today I saw a 32W5500 that had a large clinking sound coming from the back, image was fine but that loud clicking sound...all this and of course backlight bleed puts me off that brand.I've seen some LG's with a green image (of course someone had been fidling with the colour management) but all these sony's flaws that I can spot for numerous times...makes me really sad since its the brand with the better 100 hz motionflow processing.Really sad I am.

they are aware of the problem of backlight bleed , they will give you a refund if thats what you need , so take the plunge and have no fear , and you may be a happy ear

Looks to me like you are going out to find problems with sony products.Nobody will ever be perfect. The problem is us the great? public who love to see downfalls rather then positive things.Look at samsung 10 years ago nobody in the uk would touch their products, and now look at them!!.samsung were very clever markerting their lcd tvs say they were led tvs.clearly their not.lcd tvs with led backlight tech.and were taken to court to change the tv and press advertising. And using pure white edge led lights,as opposed to sony,s full rgb leds.Remember sony are the biggest entertainment company in the world.sony pictures, columbia pictures, sony ericsson, playstation brands,And more that people dont know about, medical reserch and product placement.out side broardcast for sky,bbc.itv,five.owns virgin medias filmflex on-demand film service.we are all fast to put things down.but never complement when things are good.

ear:Blu-ray from component connections.Would this eliminate judder since it can only output 1080i?

Would make no diffrence.24fps and a good screen ,judder would not happen.

Sonycentre,

Have you seen any sony vaio blu ray equipped laptops, particularly the new ones with window 7?

I was just wondering whether or not they playback in 24fps or if there's any judder on them when playing blu rays. I'd appreciate anything you clould tell me about them, as I'm looking to get one of them or a macbook pro. The blu ray is a good selling point against the apple.

I always turn 100htz motion flow off when i watch blu-ray films,Motion flow works very well in certain films/programmes.Im going to borrow a sony bdps760 blu-ray player and try it at home with my kdl32d3000 as this player will use the full 10 bit panel that my tv has,Im selling loads of these players its a truly stunning player.

Unfortunately, I couldn't see anything on there about 24fps. I'll see if I can find one in the flesh and test it with one of my discs.

Looks good. It's the same principle, so I'd be interested to know what your thoughts are on its blu ray playback when you have a chance.

Thanks.

Sorry ear was replying on other posts,I only have a 32 inch tv and have not had any problems with judder, and i own a lot of blu-rays,hd-dvd discs.Remember 24fps is for blu-rays and hd-dvds its how film is recorded. But i have seen judder on some sky hd transmissions.on your tv turn off all prossesing noise reduction and so on and see how you get on.that the only advise i can give.
