I currently own a Sony 37w5500 lcd. Can anyone tell me if the Sony 40ex503 is a step-up in picture quality or if the difference is not worth the upgrade?

Also, is the sound as good or not. Reviews of the 37w5500 often say that the sound is poor, but, imo , the cinema settings are very good for general viewing and I have a theatre system for watching movies.

Thanks.

I own a 40W4000 and my parents recently bought the 40EX403 and there is very little difference in picture quality, if anything my W series is actually better with DVD.....can't comment on Blu-Ray performance as my parents haven't got that far yet.....so I would save your money...

We have the 52W5500 with the Bravia 3 engine, until the Bravia 4 comes out (there was some comment on this earlier this week IIRC) I doubt if there will be significant improvement, maybe just some steps in the additional picture processing (100hz, 200hz etc)

The tv is now 18 months old and is as good as the y day we bought it, with nothing but compliments on the PQ when people come around.

If you want to go bigger then that is different, but not from 37 to 40, but say to 46"
