Pity that you put this thread in the "Home Cinema" section, you might get more responses if you had placed it in the "TVs and projectors" section? Both the TVs that you mention are very, very good. The Panasonic 55ST50 that gel mentioned is very good also.

It can be had for about £1400 too. I am not sure which one I would go for, best to demo and see which one you think looks best. Blacks are best on the Panasonic plasmas.
