Sony HXD 890B 160Gb DVD/HDD Digital box

Just purchased Sony HXD 890 dvd player.

Trying to record programmes - pressing "Guide" as instruction manual but nothing happening -

DVD display reads "time Li"

Any ideas please.

Press the 'Input' button on your remote control (top right underneath the power and PROG buttons). This will cycle through L1, L2, PR, and D0. L1 and L2 are line inputs which is why you are not getting the guide up at present. PR is analogue (which you won't be using because you should have your aerial connected to the digital aerial sockets in the centre of the unit's back panel), and D0 is the digital freeview tuner. Once you have selected D0 as your input, the GUIDE button should work fine.

I have one of the earlier models. Be aware (on my model anyway) that if you unplug the unit from the mains it will set back to its default setting when you plug it back in.Just remember to reset as matthewpiano has described again.
