Sony F886 hi-res audio player. What headphone upgrades should be considered?

Hi,

currently have the AKG 451 and the audio-technica ES55. Should I upgrade and if so what should I be considering? Are there hi-res audio IEMs I shoud look at?

There aren't such things as High Res headphones, just like speakers, they are what they are.

To be honest, imho, if you are not hearing any improvement of having a high res player, then I doubt new heaphones will help. sure they may improve your listening experience, but that would go the same for if you didn't have the high res player if that makes sense?

What's your budget limit? The headphones you list are very low on the audio totem pole.
