Sony DAx400ES Receiver Question

Hi,

I'm looking to upgrade my Denon AVR-2807. The current Sony ES range looks interesting. Has anyone had a chance to audition the 2400ES, 3400ES and 5400ES side by side? Is there much difference in sound quality for movies or music between the three? Or is the price difference down to the extra features on offer? I don't need multi-zone support or two HDMI outputs.

I'm not familiar with these amps, but the DA5400ES is the new top-of-the-range model at around £1500, so I would expect it to the best of the three (and it's had some rave reviews).

I'd certainly hope so. But at least some of the extra cash is going on more sophisticated video processing, multiple zone support and a swish 'blended' GUI.ÿ

I have the 3400es and it's better than the Denon 2808 which my brother-in-law has and I demo'd the 2809 and the Sony was better than that too. You will not be disappointed. If you have the money, you might as well check out the 5400 too.
