Sony Bravia Sync and other equipment

Hi everyone

I have a Sony KDL 40w5500 TV which is connected by scart to a Humax PVR-9150T which is connected to a TV in another room, the Humax works ok but here's my question....is there any system that can allow me to control the Humax from the room with the Sony TV ? ( if I had a Sony PVR then I could control it from the Sony TV with Bravia Sync.)

I have the PVR in another room because I use it to record mainly motorsports, her indoors doesn't like motorsport

Hi nottonto,in a word no,bravia sync only works with selected sony product's.

Bravia sync if for hdmi connections - isnt it Sonys name for CEC-HDMI ?

For example my Samsung tv happily changes volume,swaps inputs automatically etc on my sony amp. Samsung call it Anynet+

I dont think the Humax supports CEC though

Why a scart connection ?

Why scart?.....its the only way to get an output from the Humax PVR

if u only have scarts then the humax would need to support sonys scart control system - I think it was called smartlink - or something like that.

Dont think the humax does...
