I have a few quid to spend, and I would like to know what you guys think as to which 46" TV is better, in terms of picture performance (as I already have a separate sound system):

Samsung UE46B8000 46"LED TV

Sony Bravia KDL-46Z5800

the sony has a 5 star review on tech site in there words they reckon it gives the led a run for there money,

plus you get 3sat what now has bbc iplayer on it

Unless you buy a new TV every year, you should also consider reliability and build quality.

Sony has a long history making quaility equipment, while all Samsung devices I've ever owned had a short life.

maybe you were unlucky , samsungs build quality is better than sony at the moment , their lcds share the same panels , but its sonys tvs that have suffered far more with backlight bleed ...
