Sony BDP360 or S5500?? What do you think?

First BD Player.

Will watch a lot of DVD as well. Have Sony WE5. and 5.1 set up.

Can afford either but dont understand the difference?

S360 is the newer model. S550 (about 2 years old) is being replaced by S560 next month.

I think you have the code wrong the S5500 is a tv, you must either mean BDP-S5000ES or BDP-S550.
