Sony BDP S5000ES problem

I've had my Sony for around a year without any problems until recently. Two Blu Ray discs (one fresh out of the packet) have started to freeze at random moments during playback. Sometimes the player will get through it. Other times it will just stay frozen whilst the disc continues to spin.

The firmware is up to date. Not all discs do this. I have no idea what is wrong. I was thinking maybe it was lens dirt but as I have said, its not like the player is old.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Are a range of DVDs playing OK? That's a good way to test whether it's a BD-specific problem...

I've tried it with a few DVDs and havent spotted any problems...I think its just my luck and its fallen outside the warrant period!
