I'm having an issue with my Sony Bdp -S5000es , it will play some latest movies like need for speed , the hobbit , but it will not play Skyfall , divergent, iron man 3 it's very selective but the ones it does play it does great , any ideas ? It has the latest software update

It's all going to be down to Sony and how quick they come up with software upgrades for the player - Sony won't support the player forever. Don't forget that some discs have issues that may not be curable with software upgrades due to major disc issues (which would need replacing by the manufacturer).

Hi David , thanks for your reply , I feel it's a software issue as the last available one to download was 2011, I'm awaiting for email from Sony now

Thanks they have mailed me back wanting pics of the bluray packaging on the ones that don't work , I wonder if another model software version would help like a later model
