Hi guys,

Does anyone know if there is possibility to upgrade Sony's BDP S-370 to enable it play externel hard disc in NTFS format?

According to Sony's website, new model S-380 can read both NTFS and FAT32. However they still not provide new firmware to upgrade S-370 for this purpose.

It's frustrated when Sony is one step behind while other brands have already updated with this feature years ago.

if its any consolation.. panasonics range this year cant read ntfs.... the bdt310 i bought friday will only read fat32

I think the ability to play off a hard-drive is a boon by itself. Why do you need NTFS?

NTFS is newer hard disc format which is better than FAT32 in computer tech, I don't really know about computers, but for this player, FAT32 cannot copy movie file more than 4GB. NTFS format is widely used in pendrive and hard discs but this Sony player cannot recognise.

Thank you for the info. I have recently bought BDP models to play hard disc, until I got this Sony S370, still can't read NTFS, money gone too.

Sony has responded my email,
I hope the coming firmware upgrade will be available.
