I've just updated my player from ver015 to ver019 firmware and it won't upscale DVD's anymore.
My player is connected by component leads to an old HD Ready LCD TV and the Sony is set at 720p output. Blu-Ray and AVCHD playback is fine at 720p playback, as is the Sony settings screen, however put in a DVD and playback is only 480p or 576p (dependent on NTSC or PAL disc). Both the TV info display and the Sony's info say the same. With the previous firmware the player would upscale to 720p via my component connection.
Anyone else had a problem? I haven't tried it via HDMI to plasma yet, so I don't know whether the update has just affected the component DVD playback or not.
