When will Sony bring out the 790's Successor?

Although sold via Richer Sounds, this has now be taken off Sony's UK website ?

All very strange (have a read of my post below this one in Blu Ray section).

Does anyone know what is going on ?

No Sony press release either ?

It may be the replacement / successor, but has less features & cant play as many file formats.

Plus the 790 has a lot of the parts in it that some of the so called hi end players have.

I certainly would not consider it an upgrade after having had a demo, it is no better to my eyes & ears.

As per our chat on the other thread. The 790 will be discontinued before Christmas with no replacement due out untill around March. I have been reliably informed that there wont be any further price reductions so grab one while you can.
