Good of What Hi-Fi to get a review out of this new telly! But please can we have a bit more detail about the panel and its black levels? Is it an IPS panel like LG use or a VA like Panasonic? Did you apply a light meter to the screen on a B&W pattern to get the black levels quantitatively? IPS seem to come out about 0.15 cd/m^2, VA maybe a 1/3 of that, and a good plasma less than 0.01. It would be good to know how this set performed on such a calibrated scale, or at least to know whether we are in the LG or Panny domains of LCD greyness.

Thanks. That is useful, if rather disappointing to hear. I'd better have a long view in a darkened room before I decide whether to buy, as I've thought the LG PQ was very poor.
